A Proof of Commitment

The School of Accountancy and JPIA realized again their strong commitment to serve their communities and expose account-ing students to actual work through the Inventory Taking held at Tuason Community Center Foundation, Inc. (TCCFI) last April 28.
A year ago, the School of Accountancy and JPIA signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with TCCFI to improve, upgrade, and update the ac-counting system of the latter. Part of this MOA is the former’s willingness and enthusiasm to assist the personnel of TCCFI in any aspect of its accounting pro-cedures and legal matters. Since a year-end inventory count is customarily necessary for any type of organization to accomplish the said objectives, the members and officers of JPIA and faculty members from the School of Accountancy conducted this Inventory Taking together with the officers from St. Scholastica’s Academy Marikina (SSAM).
The members and officers from from SSC Manila were divided into nine groups, who are assisted by one officer from SSAM. They were tasked to conduct the inventory count in different areas of TCCFI such as administrative room, acupuncture and guest room, baking and conference room, herbal area (production and merchandising), storeroom, supply room, session hall, and sewing room. The faculties, headed by Mr. Ronaldo Quiambao and Dean Ester Ledesma, monitored the inventory count and noted all the actions and procedures which are necessary to enhance the accounting system of TCCFI.
This activity not only denotes the fulfillment of the MOA signed between the parties, it also exposed the students to the work in real world. The activity also served as a training ground for them. It was another way of promot-ing social awareness and developing a sense of responsibility of the members in achieving the school’s mission of being in solidarity with the community and an important contribution of the faculty mem-bers from the School of Account-ancy to share their skills in all as-pects of accounting and legal matters as means of their lifetime service and commitment to the community.
