The goal is not only to pass the board exam, but also to help make the world a better place.
This was the inspiring message delivered by Fr. Gil Peter Coching, the officiating priest of the Holy Eucharist offered for a successful October 2012 Licensure Board Examination for Certified Public Accountants (CPA) for the Scholastican board exam takers. The mass, which was sponsored by the School of Accountancy and the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), was held on October 5 at the Social Hall.
Eight Scholastican alumnae took the four-day CPA Licensure Board Examination held last October 6-7 and 13-14 in various schools in Metro Manila. The board takers were the most recent Bachelor of Science in Accountancy graduates: Marie Khristi Botor, Merlyn Caibigan, Marjorie Carreon, Dorothy Joy Domingo, Charmaine Grace Martinez, Kristina Caressa Ong Sotto, Floriza Poblete, and Lovely Tecson.
The School of Accountancy and the JPIA also organized a synchronized rosary prayer for the same intention. The activity was held before the mass, and free rosary bracelets and complimentary prayer booklets were distributed to the JPIA members and to others who participated in the said activity.
Aside from these two activities, the third year Accountancy and Accounting students conducted the traditional Board Operations to assist the eight Scholastican examinees during the first two days of the CPA Licensure Board Examination. The procedure for this annual activity is to provide the Scholastican examinees free snacks and lunch, as sponsored by the School of Accountancy, and to show moral support to them by making sure that they no longer experience the hassle of looking for a place to eat during the lunch break.
